We built these lamps for one reason: raw, high-intensity heat. We’re talking about a 1200W powerhouse running on 230V, with a carbon fiber heart wrapped in ruby quartz glass. The power side of things When you hit that switch, the heat hits fast. Really fast. If you’re running a process where you can’t afford to sit around waiting for a machine to warm up, this is your best bet. Since it’s spec’d for standard industrial grids, you can just wire it in. No need to mess around with those bulky, annoying step-down transformers. Just a heads-up, though—you’re pushing a lot of energy into a tiny space. Make sure your control system can handle the current, or you’ll be spending your afternoon replacing blown fuses. Why ruby quartz and carbon fiber? The ruby quartz isn’t just there to look pretty. It actually helps the heat penetrate deeper into whatever you’re working on. Inside, we swapped out the usual tungsten for carbon fiber. Here’s why: carbon fiber doesn’t freak out when the temperature swings. It handles the expansion and contraction of power cycling way better, so it doesn’t just snap. If you’re working in a rough environment where cheaper tubes usually burn out from thermal shock, these are a lifesaver. Using them in the real world You’ll mostly see these in PET blowing, plastic welding, or on drying lines. Because of that carbon fiber element, the heat spreads evenly across the whole tube, unlike those halogen coils that can be a bit patchy. But there’s a catch. 1200W puts off a lot of ambient heat. If you cram these too close together in an oven, you’re going to have a bad time. You might melt your wiring or fry your sensors. Give them some breathing room and make sure your ventilation is actually moving air. If the heat just sits there around the end caps, you’re basically cutting the life of your lamp in half.
