Getting Under the Hood

What Makes It Tick
Inside, the carbon filament gets scorching hot and radiates powerful infrared heat. We fill the quartz tube with halogen gas to keep the filament from evaporating, so the output stays steady over the lamp’s life. The gold coating on the tube is a clever trick. It reflects infrared energy forward, so more of that heat hits your target and less gets wasted going backward. And the R7s connector? It’s just a practical, two-ended bayonet fit. It wires up quickly and locks in place, making it an easy drop-in replacement for existing fixtures.
