We fill the quartz tube with halogen gas to keep the filament from evaporating, so the output stays steady over the lamp’s life. The gold coating on the tube is a clever trick. It reflects infrared energy forward, so more of that heat hits your target and less gets wasted going backward. And the R7s connector? It’s just a practical, two-ended bayonet fit. It wires up quickly and locks in place, making it an easy drop-in replacement for existing fixtures.
