They run at 220V and pull 1200W, pumping out short-to-medium wave radiation that hits your target instantly. The power side of things Here’s the deal with the specs: 1200W spread across 740mm means you get a nice, steady stream of heat. No annoying “cold spots” in the middle of your zone. Just a heads-up: because these hit their operating temp so fast, you’ve got to make sure your wiring and relays can actually handle the current. If you skimp on the cables, you’re just asking for a burnout at the terminals. Why carbon and quartz? We went with a carbon-based filament wrapped in high-purity quartz. Why? Because carbon doesn’t need to get nearly as hot as tungsten to throw off a massive amount of infrared energy. The quartz is there to keep the filament from oxidizing and to let the heat fly through without getting trapped. They’re tough. They can handle the grind of a loud, dirty industrial shop. But—and this is a big but—**do not touch the glass with your bare hands.**The oils from your skin create these tiny hot spots that will crack the quartz. Use gloves.
